Currents Of Change Exhibition

Date:

August 2025

At the end of August, I participated in an art show hosted by the Coral Foundation. With the theme Currents of Change, to raise awareness of protecting our oceans. Living on a small Gulf Island in BC, leading to a lot of time by the ocean, I couldn’t help but notice how intricate and diverse ocean ecosystems are. This ended up being the inspiration for the art I made for the show

Under the Water’s Surface
18 x 24, Digital + Printed

The ocean along Canada’s west coast is one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems, home to a variety of species, including fish, invertebrates, aquatic plants, and mammals. Inspiration for this work comes from the vast life in our oceans, not just the grand whales that inhabit them, but also what’s just by our feet on the rocky shores. I wanted to capture the array of beautiful life the ocean carries. How many critters can you spot?

Below is a breakdown of the creatures included in this work, based on research of real species living in the Salish Sea. Photos used for comparison are my own.
